My primary interest is web design which I currently do freelance. I build small websites for companies that require informative and attractive sites to draw attention to themselves. A website is the perfect way to expand your client base, and share information quickly with the world.

Most of my websites use a base of HTML and CSS, with dynamic enhancements from PHP, mySQL and JavaScript as required. All my websites are written to WC3 standards, with the best usability and accessibility practices.

I can also organise domain names and hosting space if you do not have these already. At an annual fee, I can also maintain these domains and keep your sites live and up-to-date.

Pricing

My rates are negotiable and based purely on the time needed to complete a project and the energy expended to do so. Small sites are easy and quick to make and may take up to only a day to two, where as a large site may take weeks and require many special functions. There is no set price, as I like to negotiate an estimate before the project starts (upon which a deposit must be paid) and if complications arise, the project takes longer than expected or you require additional features during the design stage then the total fee will be re-evaluated. Don't worry, it shouldn't vary too much and I won't charge for more work than I've done!

My rates are fairly modest, ranging from £30 to upward of £300 depending on the complexity and timescale of the project. For a simple website that you will upload to your own host, the fee is a one-time fixed payment, the amount based on the amount of pages and the time estimated to complete it (taking into account any special coding or images that you require).

The cost to update a previously-made site (created by me or otherwise) is negotiable depending on its estimated timescale.

To maintain a site on hosting that I will look after, the base price for the site is decided as normal and then an annual renewal fee must be paid as hosting and domain names cost money each year to keep. This is usually around £60 or so depending on the size of the host and the suffix of the domain (eg .com costs more than .co.uk).

I take payments via cheque or paypal.
